Sly Withers Share Exceptional New Track "Passing Through"

Sly Withers are another fantastic indie rock band that come from Perth, WA and feature four talented members who are Jono Mata (guitar/vocals), Sam Blitvich (guitar/vocals), Joel Neubecker (drums), and of course Shea Moriarty on the bass. After a massive year of touring across Australia in support of their second album "Gardens", the band have started to wind down and have given us an exceptional new track titled "Passing Through" which as the band describes, is a song that “talks about the idea that for various reasons, goals can be misaligned, and the pressure that creates between two people”.

Being Sly Wither’s first release of 2022, it has certainly set the bar high for them with its excellent sound and hook that grabs your attention as they describe it as a "step up" from what they have previously released.

“Passing Through” definitely takes it to the next level with the crazy amount of talent that these guys have, it shines through completely. A sweet and euphoric guitar riff under golden vocals leads us into a full instrumental crash from the rest of the band, featuring a melodic rhythm section that holds the chorus together and gives it a punchier sound. A high point of this track is the softer verses that contrast with the more powerful chorus which is followed by a mixture of the two in the bridge giving it a complete climax before it rips into a bittersweet guitar solo and soaring backing vocals that totally and utterly complete the track and give it a super strong finish. So many elements make up this irresistible single and makes you fall in love with Sly Withers all over again with their sound and great use of contrast. I don’t know about you, but after hearing “Passing Through” I can’t help but be extra excited for what the band will release next. You can stream the track below and see the band perform a headline show in Margaret River, WA or catch them performing at Splendour In The Grass alongside artists like Tyler, The Creator, Liam Gallagher, YUNGBLUD, and many more.
