Punk Band Private Wives Release Loud And Gritty Track “Pity Party”

Today saw many new releases but one of my favourites came from gritty punk band Private Wives who undoubtedly have unlocked the way to my heart with their loud and angry tunes that have strong lyrics and a kickass sound - there is simply nothing better than that! The trio come from Wollongong but are no strangers when it comes to playing in different cities as they have had so many fantastic opportunities and played with bands such as Tumbleweed, Dicklord, and many others. “Pity Party” is a track that has an in your face gritty sound that will have you jumping around ready for a mosh while bringing a 90’s punk guitar riff that reminds me of bands like Bikini Kill and L7 and roaring vocals to create one hell of a track.

Feedback from guitars is the first thing to hit my ears and then suddenly the grainy and fuzzed out guitar riff starts to play and that’s when I knew this was going to be a favourite of mine. The guitar is then met with the loud and aggressive vocals that kick in with a simple yet solid punk drum beat that pulls everything together. Not only are all of these things fantastic, but the lyrics in the track are strong and that’s what I love about punk music - it’s loud, it’s angry, and it always uses lyricism in a way to give an angry, straight to the point message.

If you’re a fan of Veruca Salt, L7, Bikini Kill, then this band is the perfect band for you as they sport massive riot grrrl inspiration through all of their tracks and attitude through music. Keep up to date with Private Wives on social media and don’t forget to stream their badass track “Pity Party” now.
