Prog-Rock Band Gravity Stone Release Masterpiece Track Titled "Dichotomy"
It's been a long time since I've sat down to listen to a track and immediately thought to myself "Wow, this is something else", and that's exactly what Gravity Stone's new track "Dichotomy" has done. The progressive-rock band from Western Sydney let all their talent shine through on this track from the simple but rich sounds of a piano all the way to a sick guitar solo. This release marks their first new single since December 2020 when they dropped “Poly” which was very well received and makes “Dichotomy” one hell of a return.
From the first listen, it takes you by surprise - a slower paced start that is filled with beautiful piano chords which intertwines with isolated vocals that instantly grab your attention. Out of nowhere, we are then met with an explosion of instruments that erupt together and help create a powerful sound for the track that gives it a much more prog-rock feel. Vocalist Daniel Osborne has soft and sweet vocals that carry out the lyrics strongly and echo throughout all the instruments, making it a highlight of the track.
Every little piece of “Dichotomy” blends well with each other and makes for a strong sound that I can only describe as a masterpiece. It’s a well written song that has a lot of elements to it and that’s what I love about it. This is a terrific start for Gravity Stone this year and I cannot wait to see what these guys have planned in the future. Catch them on Tuesday 24th May at UOW Unibar with an absolute stacked line-up for their single launch!
