One More Weekend Release Fun New Track “Raindrops”

Indie-rock band One More Weekend released a brand new electrifying tune titled “Raindrops” just last month that has enough guitar licks to fuel you for the rest of the year. The Melbourne four-piece continue to bring fresh and exciting sounds to your ears with every release they put out into the world. Vocalist Connor Dougan says about the track:

“Raindrops is all about being in a particular time, a space in which only you are present. Everything is amplified and nothing else matters. It feels wild, electric, free though weirdly contained in yourself. There's a strange urge to share this type of bliss with the rest of the world when you feel it. So how do you a share a moment so selfish? You can't, you just have to feel it, all by yourself.

The song was tough to produce, it’s full on the whole way through so you can imagine the physical strain if you don’t slam it out in one take. I actually redid the vocals 3 or 4 times because the first time it wasn't nearly as powerful as expected. One of our favourite parts is the sample section just before the bridge, we actually recorded the majority of this in “The Davecave” (Jaysons step dad’s man cave). It got even better though when we took it to the Songstore and Adrian our producer started messing with it. By luck we had our videographer Haili present and she got to do more than just watch, keep your ears honed for the sneaky little “Where’s Tim” vocals. This is the first of 3 massive single releases this year. Every single one is accompanied by a stellar music video, limited merchandise and a bloody ripping show.”

Powerful and punchy bass is the first thing we are welcomed with on this track followed by fresh guitar licks and vocals that have so much force, it really adds a whole new level to the song without anything else. Full of fast paced and energetic sounds throughout, “Raindrops” is a true banger of a track that you will be able to see yourself headbanging around to during any of the bands live shows. When the chorus hits, it has an insanely catchy hook that is twisted between some really great lyrics. With a huge 53,000 streams on Spotify in just under a month, it’s clear that this track is a huge one for them.

One More Weekend are an impressive band to say the least with their incredible songwriting abilities, I cannot wait to see what they come up with next.

Check out their socials below, stream the new track, watch the music video, go to their show, and just overall show them a lot of love.
