MilkyWave Drop Debut Track "apricity"
What an absolute dream the debut single “apricity” is from new Sydney band MilkyWave which was released late last week. Right off the bat, the dreamscape turned indie rock track hit me hard and just might be my favourite release of the year so far. The four-piece have done a fantastic job at creating such a track that will wrap itself around your mind and have you thinking about it for a long time.
“Apricity'' starts off pretty much with a dream pop sound as the soft and sweet vocals float upon a cloud of dreamy instruments that really give you this strong euphoric feeling making you chilled out completely. About half way through, things start to shift a little and then all of a sudden the pace changes and it becomes more of this indie rock track that really holds its ground and puts a new perspective on the song. This is really well done and in such a way that it hasn't completely changed the sound, so you know it’s the same great song from the start just adding a little more flair to it. Followed up by a really sick solo at the end to basically help close the track and bring it to its end.
MilkyWave have done an incredible job and released a fantastic debut track that I know I will have on repeat for weeks. The melody, the lyrics, the instruments - everything in this song is well-written and has me excited for future releases and also for the future of the band because I can see them really going far if they keep releasing tracks as solid as this.
