June And The Desert Flames Release "Rainy Day Daydream"

Updated: Jun 2, 2022

Behold, it’s the first day of Winter and we are gifted with a brand new track from Sydney’s June And The Desert Flames titled “Rainy Day Daydream” which is very fitting considering all of the rain that we have been receiving this year. Six very talented members make up the band including Milly McPherson, Finn Fagerström, Samuel Holliday, Stella Rose, Ethan Bosmans, and Samuel Brown who are all multi-instrumentalists and all hold the power to create simple, yet such diverse and dense music that is very easy to love from first listen.

Rain is a sound that a lot of people enjoy, especially when you’re home, in bed, listening to it hitting your roof and smelling it from a small gap in your window - It’s a cosy feeling and this track embodies. At the start we are met with that very enjoyable sound, the sound of rain, before an acoustic guitar comes in strumming chords followed by the sweet vocals that sway in and out of all the instrumentals that finally kick in to fully complete the song and give you over three minutes of pure bliss. Just when I thought things couldn’t get any better with this track, the notes of a piano softly come in and help wash us away as the track comes to an end which just fits perfectly with everything else heard.

“Rainy Day Daydream” is only the second track from the band and it follows from “The Creek” which was released back in January and was described as a summer holiday anthem. It’s really great to see these talented musicians come together and start their journey as June And The Desert Flames and I cannot wait to see them grow as a band and release more and more terrific songs that make you feel so strongly. They have some shows coming up in Newcastle and Sydney so make sure you jump on that to see these amazing tracks performed live.
