Future Static Drop Intoxicating Track "Venenosa"

“Venenosa” is the fresh new track from Melbourne based band Future Static and follows up from their well-received track “Waves” which saw high-praise as it gained the band Triple J Unearthed Feature Artist for March, got added to Spotify editorial playlist Homegrown + Heavy, and attracted a whole lot of love with positive reviews from people all over in support of the band and their emerging talents. With all that said, “Venenosa” is certain to get the same love and attention with just how good and heavy it truly is - it won’t need a review to persuade you to like it, you will listen for yourself and be hooked from the very opening guitar riff. Unlike anything else, Future Static bite down hard like a snake on this track with the attacking guitar riffs, hard crashing drums, and the ferocious screams mixed with the clean vocals from vocalist Amariah Cook that will completely take hold of you. The band explain the meaning behind the track - “‘Venenosa’ (Spanish for 'poisonous') is based on Amariah’s experience of coming to realise that the negative energy surrounding her was in fact due to her own toxic behaviour towards the people who she was supposed to care for. It takes the listener through the very intense journey she took to rid herself of this toxicity that was festering inside the depths of her subconscious, and how she came out the other side full of love and respect for herself and those around her again.” With the fierce instrumentals and the sweet vocals in the chorus that are contrasted with the distinct screams in the verse, it almost reminds me of the sounds of a heavy Lacuna Coil track. The rage and vulnerability in this track is dynamic and somewhat outstanding as it packs a huge punch of emotion that comes full circle again in time for the next chorus to start. You can catch Future Static live as they support Circles on their national tour. Everything linked below!
